Glendale/QEW Interchange Improvement Public Information Centre, April 25, 2018 3:00 to 4:00 at the Hilton Garden Inn, York Road, NOTL. Proposed is a unique design that includes construction of a new bridge, a commuter parking area and relocation of the Traveller Information Centre.

April 25, 2018 6:00-8:00 pm
Millennium Trail Public Meeting on the design of the Millennium Recreational Trail (MRT) Section 5 on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the MacBain Community Centre – 2nd floor.  The design of the trail will include a StoryWalk©, sponsored by Rotary and the Niagara Falls Public Library.  This section of the trail will connect the MRT Canada 150 Pathway to the MRT Paisley Janvary-Pool Pathway.  Once completed, residents will be able to travel from the south end of the City starting at McLeod Road and travel north along the trail network to Whirlpool Road, connecting to the Niagara River Recreational Trail.  Supporters of the trail network are encouraged to attend.

May 18, 2018, 7:00-8:00 pm Ride of Silence in Niagara Falls Firemen's Park is the starting point for this the 16th anniversary ride.

Ongoing, Winter 2017-18:
Niagara Region is currently reviewing and revising its Transportation Master Plan (TMP.) The TMP will serve as a guiding instrument for decisions relating to transportation issues and road construction for almost 25 years through to 2041. Affected by this process is the Strategic Cycling Network.

Public Engagement Project, Completion of the Millennium Trail in Niagara Falls: In summer 2017 the section of Millennium Trail from Lundys Lane to Royal Manor Drive was opened. Final design work is underway for completion of the connection along the Hydro Canal from Hwy 420/Dorchester to Drummond/Morrison. Upcoming: MTO Bridge Replacement, QEW over Welland River
The MTO has engaged a consultant to review impacts arising from a replacement of the existing parallel bridges crossing Oakwood Drive, the Welland River, the CP spur line to south Niagara Falls and the entrance to Baden Powell Park. The study will follow the approved environmental planning process for Group “C” projects under the Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000) with the opportunity for public input throughout.
